Regulator vows close watch on Shell drilling in Arctic

WASHINGTON -- Federal inspectors will be stationed around the clock on rigs that Shell plans to use in drilling up to five wells in Arctic waters near Alaska this summer, a top U.S. regulator promised Thursday.

Director James Watson of the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement said having the offshore drilling inspectors on the Kulluk and Discoverer rigs will ensure a close watch on Shell's proposed oil exploration, should it win final government approval.

"BSEE will diligently review and monitor Shell's proposed activities at each stage to ensure they remain compliant with federal regulations and are performed in a safe manner," Watson told reporters on a

A few weeks ago there was a story about this and it was Greenpeace that was mentioned solely in it. Now we have this story with no mention of Grreenpeace but the Bureau Of Safety And Environmental Enforcement. Something deep inside strongly tells me these two groups are one and the same.

Where were they during or after the oil spill in New Jersey? Where were they when big oil purposely shut down multiple refineries in California before the Cherry Point refinery was functional again? Why are our drivers constantly being given the shaft by our corrupt big oil @sskissing politicians in Washington when they have the means to at least partially fix the oil and gas supply and pricing manipulation scandal we have suffered the past nine years thanks to Bush's commodity trading deregulation and Obama's refusal to fix this mess or at least regulate the speculators?? This @sshole lied to the public on TV TWICE "calling on Congress to curb speculation while not offering any funding whatsoever to make this a reality. He would rather give 20 million dollars to an ad agency to promote the controversial Obamacare, comes to show what he thinks of the common man and woman in this country.

Most likely if the report a big issue the Tea Party/Congress will get them removed or fired since it might cut into their huge tax free profits.
